 Jim began playing guitar before he was in high school. It seems that he has just always loved making music and entertaining people. Jim entertains as a solo Singer/Acoustic Guitarist or with the Jim McBride Triple-Play Band. Jim has entertained mostly in Illinois but has also performed in many other states including Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, plus others. Jim entertains at private parties, corporate events, hotels, Christmas parties, birthday parties, children events, coffee shops, festivals, fund raisers, grand openings, picnics, resorts, reunions, bars, taverns, country clubs, restaurants and special events, such as weddings, receptions, dinners, political and civic events, and other special programs. His repertoire includes popular radio music, new and classic rock, and country and folk. Jim provides a complete musical service with his wide variety of sound equipment that gives superb sound for an event of a few dozen people or for a function of many hundreds of people. As a solo singer/entertainer, Jim performs with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica. Jim has a bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University and a master's degree from the University of Santa Monica. His real love has always been music. During school he played guitar and sang. He had friends that he played with plus he played in and had his own bands in school. He enjoyed playing classical guitar, but he mostly loved the classic rock and popular music and singing. After college, Jim devoted more time to musical entertainment with his band and solo career. |
